Where is the OBD port in the Renault Megane 2008–2016
Sit in the driver’s seat. The port is a plastic trapezoid with two rows of holes; the adapter plugs into it.
Where to look
In the middle of the centre console, below the radio.
Nearby: the radio and the gear lever.
Behind the panel around the cigarette lighter socket in the centre console.
What you’ll see
It’s behind a removable cover — pull it towards you; it’s held by clips.
Can’t find it?
Check the other usual places — the most common first:
- Under the dashboard, left of the steering wheel
- Right under the steering wheel
- Under the dashboard, right of the steering wheel
- Behind a lid in the lower dashboard, left of the wheel
- Between the front seats
It is often behind a cover: a small hinged lid, the fuse-box lid, an ashtray or a storage tray. These usually come off by hand — pull them towards you. Don’t force anything: if a cover won’t give, the port is most likely somewhere else. Where a cover has to be unscrewed, the steps for your car say so.
How to plug the adapter in
- Push the adapter into the port, wide side up, all the way in. No force needed: if it won’t go in, turn it over.
- Switch on the ignition or start the car — a light on the adapter comes on.
- Open Inerka and tap “Connect the adapter” on the map — the app will guide you from there.
